Each of our stores around the UK has its very own special store blend that tells the unique story of the local area. For our four stores in London, that blend is none other than our best-selling London Fog tea.
Despite its name, London Fog tea is thought to originate from Vancouver, Canada, where a tea lover requested a steamed milk & vanilla-infused Earl Grey tea at a coffee shop.
Named after the drink’s misty, milky appearance, reminiscent of the famous foggy weather in London & loved by world travellers from near & far, London Fog was the perfect choice as our blend for our London stores. Our version is super creamy & aromatic, with a distinctive Earl Grey flavour. Teabirds visiting our capital city stores love to enjoy it as a frothy tea latte.
Recreate this reimagined Earl Grey delight at home using the recipe below (you can stock up ont he blend online if you can’t make it to store!). We hope to see you in the Big Smoke soon where our friendly Tea Mixologists can brew you up a London Fog Tea Latte to sip as you roam the city!

SERVES 1
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- 2 Perfect Tea Spoons of London Fog tea
- 100ml of freshly drawn boiling water
- Teapot or strainer (we recommend Brewdini Gravity Steeper)
- 300ml milk of your choice (we use oat milk!)
- 1 pump of Sweetbird Vanilla Syrup (or sweetener of choice)
- A drizzle of honey
- Your favourite mug
WHAT TO DO:
- First, pop 2 heaped teaspoons of London Fog tea into your Brewdini Gravity Steeper then add the boiling water & brew for 4 minutes.
- You can also use alternative teapots, strainers or tea sacs to brew your loose leaf tea.
- Strain the tea into your mug, leaving enough room for your milk.
- Gently heat your milk on the stove or in the microwave and, if you have one, use a milk frother to make it nice & frothy.
- Pour your milk over your tea and make sure you get a lovely big dollop of foam on top.
- Now you can add 1 pump of Sweetbird Vanilla Syrup and give it a stir.
- Add a drizzle of honey on top if you’d like, for that final touch.
- Enjoy!
