What Is The Charitea Of The Quarter All About?
When we set up Bird & Blend back in 2013, we knew we wanted to create a company that gave back to the world and the communities that we worked within. We are passionate about supporting causes that are close to our hearts, helping the people & environment around us, so our ChariTEA (did you see what we did there?) of the Quarter was born. Supporting causes we love through tea seemed like the pretty perfect move for us!
Every three months we choose a different charity to work with and support them through the profits of their chosen blend, along with campaigns that our fans and customers get involved in too.
During this time, all of the money that we make from the sales of our ChariTEA blend go straight to that charity or cause. This Quarter, our ChariTEA have chosen Vicky’s Sponge Cake
Who are Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity?
Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity provides specialist nurses and support for seriously ill children across the UK.
Children with complex conditions are often under the care of multiple specialists, at different hospitals across the UK, but they also face extensive needs beyond traditional healthcare. This reality makes navigating the healthcare system and coordinating their care complex and confusing for families.
Roald Dahl Nurses change that experience – Roald Dahl Nurses are experts in their field, specialising in complex conditions. They provide a holistic, ‘make things happen’ kind of care, co-ordinating and supporting families in appointments, listening to concerns and answering their questions and advocating and championing children each step of the way. They help families feel more confident and less isolated.
How Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity Helps
Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity fundraises to establish more vital Roald Dahl Nurses across the UK.
- Roald Dahl Nurses are experts in their field and provide vital care for seriously ill children and their families.
- There are currently over 150 Roald Dahl Nurses supporting more than 36,000 children and families across the UK, there are still too many children who do not receive this specialist support.
- The charity’s Marvellous Family Support Services provide free financial and emotional support for families supported by a Roald Dahl Nurse.
- The charity also provides professional development and training for Roald Dahl Nurses to continually improve the care and support they give.

How Bird & Blend are Supporting Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity
- We will be adding posters promoting the charity to each of our 25 stores.
- We are providing free cuppas to all Roald Dahl’s nurses at their annual conference in May
- We will be hosting Tea Mixology Workshops for Roald Dahl’s nurses in our stores
- We have already given 250 Christmas gifts for nurses & 5 hampers for families
