WHAT IS THE CHARITEA OF THE QUARTER ALL ABOUT?
When we set up Bird & Blend back in 2013, we knew we wanted to create a company that gave back to the world and the communities that we worked within. We are passionate about supporting causes that are close to our hearts, helping the people & environment around us, so our ChariTEA (did you see what we did there?) of the Quarter was born. Supporting causes we love through tea seemed like the pretty perfect move for us!
Every three months we choose a different charity to work with and support them through the profits of their chosen blend, along with campaigns that our fans and customers get involved in too.
During this time, all of the money that we make from the sales of our ChariTEA blend go straight to that charity or cause.
WHO ARE WHIZZ KIDZ?
Whizz Kidz is the UK’s leading charity for young wheelchair users (0-25 year olds). There are over 75,000 young people in the UK who need to use a wheelchair to be mobile. Unfortunately, they cannot access the equipment that fully meets their needs through local services.
"We’re here for all of them. We provide them with the equipment and skills they need to live life as independently as possible. To enjoy all the opportunities and activities that so many others take for granted – at home, at school and beyond."
HOW WHIZZ KIDZ HELPS
"At Whizz Kidz, we're committed to making a difference in the lives of young wheelchair users. That's why we've invested £ 2.6 million since 2020 to support our mission of providing life-changing mobility equipment, vital support, and unforgettable experiences to young people and families across the UK."
Last year:
- 800 young people attended clinics or had equipment repaired or maintained last year.
- 1301 young people and families used our Young People’s Services last year.
- "We did 95 different activity sessions with young wheelchair users, including rock climbing, white water rafting, ceramic painting and adaptive skiing."
THE RIGHT WHEELCHAIR IS THE REAL DIFFERENCE
"We want the world to discover that disability isn’t the difference we should care about. It’s the right wheelchair, at the right time; that’s the real difference."
Meet almost 2-year-old Ibrahim. Due to his age, he wasn’t eligible to receive a wheelchair through local services. His wheelchair from Whizz Kidz has given him the opportunity to have fun, freedom and adventures just like his friends and other children his age.

Whizz Kidz and Bird & Blend: how we’re working together
How Bird & Blend are supporting Whizz Kids:
- Every Bird & Blend store will have posters & leaflets to promote Whizz Kidz.
- We will host private mixology tea workshops as part of Whizz Kidz Activity Programmes in 2025.
- Bird & Blend will provide tea for Whizz Kidz’s upcoming events and fundraisers.
