I wasn't sure if green tea would deliver the Treacle Sponge flavours but it sure did ! Really delicious flavour 🖤

Sticky, indulgent & moreish; Treacle Sponge is a British staple and for good reason too.
Although this is a green tea blend, this tea is slightly sweet, & lightly spiced with cinnamon. It tastes just like the actual thing - best enjoyed without milk (& custard too!).
Not quite treacle sponge pudding in a tin, but rather in a tea!

Tastes like golden syrup
Unsweetened with hot water, to me it tasted like warm water with a hint of aniseed. I used 1 tsp tea in 300ml water. But when I added a sweetener (stevia) it tasted like golden syrup right down to the vanilla like aftertaste. If you take honey in this tea, it would be very much like treacle. I feel it needs a sweetener to bring out the full flavour. the appearance of the tea is very colourful with cute orange spiky flowers . I would drink it but wouldn't buy again personally . However if you loved Salted Caramel Chai you will absolutely love this too, to me they taste very similar.
